Pump.fun Perps: Trading Hyperliquid Through Pump.fun, Fees and Leverage
Table of Contents
Pump.fun now lets you trade Hyperliquid perps without leaving its app. The Solana memecoin launchpad switched on perps on October 28, 2026, and Hyperliquid's weekly update listed it as a builder-code integration. That means Pump.fun is a front end. The order book, matching, margin and liquidations are all Hyperliquid's. What Pump.fun adds is the interface, a funding route from your Pump.fun wallet, and a fee of its own on every order.
That fee is the part worth understanding before you trade, because it is larger than Hyperliquid's.

What Pump.fun Launched
Pump.fun's launch thread describes the feature in a few lines:
- Trade "300+ Hyperliquid markets," long or short, across crypto, stocks and commodities.
- Fund trades with USDC or SOL from your Pump.fun wallet.
- Isolated margin, with take profit and stop loss set when you open or added later.
- Leverage up to 40x on BTC, 25x on ETH, 20x on stocks such as TSLA and NVDA, and 50x on the S&P 500.
- "Callout Rewards": you can post your position to your Pump.fun followers and earn rewards when they copy it.
The market list in the screenshot above shows where the orders go. BTC, ETH, HYPE and ZEC are Hyperliquid's native perps. CL, BRENTOIL, XYZ100, SP500 and SKHX carry an xyz tag, which marks them as trade.xyz markets, deployed on Hyperliquid through HIP-3. The open interest and volume columns are the whole market's figures on Hyperliquid, not Pump.fun's share of them.
The leverage numbers check out. Hyperliquid's API on November 3, 2026 listed BTC at 40x, ETH at 25x, HYPE at 10x and SOL at 20x, with trade.xyz's SP500 at 50x and its TSLA and NVDA at 20x. Pump.fun is passing through Hyperliquid's caps, not setting its own. If you're new to these numbers, the leverage guide explains why the maximum is rarely the right setting.
How the Fees Stack Up
Pump.fun's fee page, updated October 17, 2026, has a section for the perps feature. It lists three costs:
- A builder fee of up to 0.05% of the notional value of each order, "including orders that open, add to or close a position." You approve it with a signature the first time you use perps, and the app shows it as its own line before you confirm. The launch thread says it is 0.05%, or 0.04% if you use a referral code.
- Up to 0.25% on each transfer of assets to or from Hyperliquid through the in-app bridge, on top of the bridge operator's own fees.
- Hyperliquid's own fees, which Pump.fun doesn't charge or control: trading fees, funding, and Hyperliquid's one-time account activation fee, deducted from your first deposit.
Pump.fun's 0.45% platform fee on memecoin trades does not apply to perps orders, according to the same page.
The builder fee is the mechanism Hyperliquid built for exactly this. Any app can route orders into Hyperliquid and add a fee you approve on-chain, up to a protocol cap of 0.1% on perps. Our guide to builder fees explains how the approval works and how to revoke one.
The cost of one trade
Here's a $10,000 position, opened and closed with market orders, at Hyperliquid's base tier (0.045% taker). Funding, spread and slippage are left out because they are the same either way.
| Route | Fee per side | Open + close on $10,000 |
|---|---|---|
| Hyperliquid direct | 0.045% | $9.00 |
| Hyperliquid direct, with referral discount | 0.0432% | $8.64 |
| Pump.fun with a Pump.fun referral code | 0.045% + 0.04% = 0.085% | $17.00 |
| Pump.fun | 0.045% + 0.05% = 0.095% | $19.00 |
On native perps like BTC the Pump.fun route costs a little over twice as much. The gap gets bigger on stock and commodity markets. Most of trade.xyz's markets run in growth mode, which cuts Hyperliquid's taker fee to about 0.009%. A flat 0.05% builder fee on top of that makes the total about 0.059%, so roughly 85% of what you pay on an SP500 trade through Pump.fun goes to Pump.fun.
Funding the account adds the bridge fee. Moving $1,000 in and back out through the in-app bridge can cost up to $5 in Pump.fun fees alone, before the bridge operator's cut. Depositing USDC to Hyperliquid yourself costs a network fee and nothing more.

None of this makes the Pump.fun route a bad one. It just has a price, and the price is worth paying in some cases.
It fits if your money already lives in Pump.fun. If your SOL or USDC sits in a Pump.fun wallet and you want a quick position on BTC or the S&P 500, the in-app route saves you a wallet setup and a bridge. On a few small trades, the extra fee comes to a few dollars.
It fits if you want the social side. Callout Rewards only exist inside Pump.fun. If you post trades for followers and they copy you, the rewards might more than cover the builder fee. That depends on your audience, and Pump.fun hasn't published reward rates in its launch thread.
It costs you if you trade often. The builder fee is charged on every order, including closes. Someone doing $500,000 a month in volume pays up to $250 a month in builder fees on top of Hyperliquid's own. At that size, setting up your own wallet takes an afternoon and pays for itself quickly. If you already use Phantom for Solana, it connects to Hyperliquid directly, though Phantom's own perps tab charges a builder fee of its own, so connect it to Hyperliquid's site rather than trading in the tab.
It costs you on stock and commodity perps. That's where the builder fee is largest relative to the exchange fee, because of growth mode. If you mostly trade stocks on Hyperliquid, the direct route is the much cheaper one.
Info
Trading the Same Markets Directly
If you'd rather trade without the builder fee, the route is the standard Hyperliquid setup:
Set up a wallet
Use an EVM wallet such as Rabby or MetaMask, or connect Phantom. The beginner trading guide walks through it.
Deposit USDC
Send USDC to Hyperliquid from Arbitrum, or bridge from another chain. If your funds are on Solana, a bridge or a centralized exchange withdrawal gets them there.
Open app.hyperliquid.xyz
Go to app.hyperliquid.xyz and pick the market. trade.xyz markets such as SP500 or CL carry an xyz label.
Choose margin and leverage
Pump.fun uses isolated margin. Directly you can choose isolated or cross; the margin modes guide explains the difference.
Check the fee line
The order panel shows Hyperliquid's fee for that market. Hyperliquid's own site adds no builder fee, so that is your whole trading fee.
The markets, the order book, the prices and the liquidation rules are the same either way. The Hyperliquid fees guide covers the tiers, staking discounts and referral discount that lower the direct cost further.
Who Can Use Pump.fun Perps
Pump.fun's launch thread includes a long eligibility notice. It says the feature "is not intended for, directed at, or made available to persons located, resident, domiciled, incorporated, or otherwise subject to the laws of any jurisdiction" where offering it would be "unlawful, prohibited, restricted, or subject to regulatory authorization that has not been obtained." The image at the end of the thread adds that Pump.fun "does not offer services to residents of the UK."
The thread doesn't list countries beyond that. Read Pump.fun's terms for where you are. Hyperliquid's own frontend has separate restrictions, which our US availability page covers.

Frequently Asked Questions
Yes. Pump.fun launched perps in its app on October 28, 2026, and Hyperliquid's weekly update listed it as integrating Hyperliquid perps through builder codes. Orders placed in the Pump.fun app are matched on Hyperliquid's order book, and Pump.fun says you can trade more than 300 Hyperliquid markets across crypto, stocks and commodities.
Pump.fun's fee page lists a builder fee of up to 0.05% of the notional value of every order, opening or closing, which its launch post says drops to 0.04% with a referral code. On top of that you pay Hyperliquid's own trading and funding fees. Moving assets to or from Hyperliquid through the in-app bridge costs up to 0.25% per transfer, plus the bridge operator's fees. Pump.fun's separate 0.45% platform fee does not apply to perps orders.
Yes, by the size of the builder fee. At Hyperliquid's base tier a taker order costs 0.045% directly, or 0.0432% with a referral discount. Through Pump.fun the same order costs 0.045% plus up to 0.05%, so about 0.095%. On a $10,000 position opened and closed with market orders, that is about $8.64 direct with a referral versus about $19 through Pump.fun, before funding and slippage.
Pump.fun's launch post lists up to 40x on BTC, 25x on ETH, 20x on stocks such as TSLA and NVDA, and 50x on the S&P 500. Those are Hyperliquid's own limits for those markets, which the Hyperliquid API confirmed on November 3, 2026. Pump.fun says positions use isolated margin.
Pump.fun's launch thread says its perps feature is not intended for or made available to people in jurisdictions where it would be unlawful, prohibited, restricted, or subject to regulatory authorization that has not been obtained, and the thread's closing image says Pump.fun does not offer services to UK residents.
